If you're in town early join us to hang out lakeside and meet friends and family from 5:30 until...
Treadwell is at 438 Black Point Road, here are some directions:
From the blinking light at Pritham Avenue in the heart of town (it's the only light in town) -
Go north on Lily Bay Road for 6.7 miles
this will include passing the Katadin on the left as you leave town
past the Blair Hill Inn (2.3 miles from the Katadin)
past the Beaver Cove Marina (3.5 miles from the Blair Hill Inn)
Turn slight left onto Black Point Road at the Beaver Cove Camps sign (Black Point is a gravel road and has no sign. The Beaver Cove Camps sign is large with a trout on it on the left just before the road takes a pretty sharp right)
Stay left at the y intersection with North Ridge Road
The cabin will be on your left in just under a mile (we'll make sure it's marked)
(if you reach Cross Ridge Road you have gone about 0.2 miles too far).
It's a BBQ (well grilling really, considering we spent the past couple of years in North Carolina) so it will be causal (think t-shirts, but bring long sleeves if you think you might get cold).
Thursday Evening - Cruising on the Kate
Join us for a spin on the historic steamship Katahdin with dinner, drinks, and general merriment. Someone is sure to tell you all about how she used to haul enormous booms of logs down the lake with crews trading off by airplane.
The Kate will be open for boarding with food and drinks at 6:15 pm and we're aiming to get under way by 7:15pm. There is plenty of parking in the lot by the dock and museum and there will be a van service to get folks home as needed (overnight parking in the lot is fine). We should be back to the dock around 9:30ish.
It's hard to miss the Katahdin, she docks pretty much right downtown. The parking lot is a block north of the blinking light on Lily Bay Road.
You'll probably want long sleeves and/or pants since it tends to cool off on the water in the evening, definitely keep it casual though.
Friday Evening - The Main Event
The ceremony, dinner, drinks, dancing, etc will all take place at the gorgeous and phenomenally cool Blair Hill Inn. None of the photos online really show the part of the grounds we'll be using though, and we're not about to spoil the view with any previews.
It's impossible to miss the Inn. It's on the right as you head north out of town on Lily Bay Road on top of, wait for it, Blair Hill. There should be plenty of parking but carpooling is definitely encouraged and there will be a van service to help get folks home.
Super formal attire isn't necessary. We're thinking suit, no tie levels but you won't feel out of place if you want to take it up a notch either.
Saturday Morning - Brunch at Treadwell
Stop by for brunch on Saturday morning after 11:00 and start the rest of your weekend off right.
